Lighthouses

One of the things that interests me most is lighthouses — their structure, their history and their stories.  I am always delighted to add to my lighthouse experiences – whether through visiting the actual lighthouse or acquiring a postcard.

Descriptions on the individual pages come from the post card itself (if in italics) or from the Lighthouse Directory or the Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society or Lighthouse Friends.  These are wonderful resources for information about lighthouses.

I love lighthouses too. I’ve seen one in Biloxi, Mississippi on the strip. Never have made it to the top. I have a fear of heights. So I mostly enjoy the outside. Would like to be a keeper of a lighthouse.
I miss postcards and letters too. It’s so special to receive a postcard from someone on vacation or a letter from a relative who is just sharing what’s going on in their house. Boy, life has certainly changed. At least, we have the memories.

I send and receive letters and postcards daily. You can keep the practice alive!
