Cascade Head – Oregon

Cascade Head

Cascade Head protrudes three miles in to the Pacific Ocean and has a summit of 1,500 feet and sheer walls that plummet 500 vertical feet to the waters below.  The cliff is covered with tangled forests of Sitka spruce hundreds of years old.

Central Oregon Cascades Winter

Central Oregon Cascades Winter

Take a snow shoe journey through a giant Ponderosa Pine forest.  Just one of the winter wonders you can find in the Central Oregon Cascades.

(Looks more like cross country ski path to me)

Ecola State Park, Oregon

Ecola State Park

Thirty-five miles of clean, hard, walkable sand along the coastline of Ecola State Park provides dramatic views of Haystack Rock, three-covered cliffs and the sublime expanse of the Pacific Ocean.

Haystack Rock is the tallest free standing rock in the upper left in the far distance.

Yaquina Bay Bridge at Sunset

Yaquina Bay Bridge at Sunset

The main arch of the Yaquina Bridge reflects in the water of the Newport Marina at South Beach.  The bridge, standing 245 feet at its highest point, was completed in 1936 and spans 3,260 feet

Oregon Map Card

Oregon Map Card

I like this card – all of the symbols relate to actual Oregon geography, history and activities —

The Basque Shepard in the lower left – The Rogue River Boats in the lower right-

The Chinese Medicine Man in John Day – The Painted Hills and Fossil Beds –

The Lewis & Clark Expedition across the top and their winter lodgings at Fort Clatsop
