“On January 26,1837, Michigan was the 26th state admitted to the Union.  The State Capitol, erected in 1879, houses the Legislature and Administrative Brances of state government.  Visitors are welcom to tour the building located in Lansing, Michigan.

This is the car in which President Kennedy was assassinated.  Dubbed “x-100” by the Secret Service, the car was originally an open and unarmored vehicle affording maximum visibility for the occupants.  Following the assassination on November 22,1965, the car was completely rebuilt into an armored vehicle.  The car was used by Presidents Johnson, Nixon, Ford and Carter.
