Irish Farmers Meet a Street Lorry – Ireland

Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, John Hinde photographers set the standard for the postcards of their day, and transformed a black and white Ireland into a vibrant colourful country.  The launch of John Hinde’s postcards coincided with the beginning of a new Pop culture which interpreted colour as synonymous with freedom, choice and optimism.  Today John Hinde is considered as a pioneer in colur photography and his work is finally being recognised as an ‘Artform” as opposed to just a postcard.
